Potential metadata corruption during validation

Jan 6, 2011 at 9:16 AM

We have returned to this SSIS project after initial testing some months ago, then it worked, now the error below.

I have tried

  • Set the batch size to 100/10/1
  • Removing all but the ID column from a test view
  • Creating a test list with the same suspect column name "Serial#"
  • Creating a test list with the same workflow as on the original list
  • Restarting IIS

Last a what to do next?

Metadata corruption? I've never seen that before.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Bump.

I have the same problem. Have you been able to resolve or found a workaround?

The ssis package was fine before and now something changed in the list properties and I get the error. A connection could be made, because I get the fieldnames and datatypes. Just data ist missing, when running the package.

EDIT**The New Connectors Did not solve my problem.**

I get the same error when trying to edit the component.

fred_styles: I can't contact you, if you contact me, then if I can get some more details around this issue, I can look into it. I can't repro this locally using SQL Server 2008 R2.

Thanks,

Kevin

Here's the story.

We're using SP 2010. Visual Studio 2008 for SSIS package. Running against SQL server 2008 R2

This was running fine before we upgraded to SQL 2008 R2 (previously running SQL 2008) I took this package over from one of my co workers that just left the company. He said he had trouble running it since the SQL upgrade.

Not sure what to try next. I thought about creating a new project in VS and seeing if I got the error. It's tough since you can't repo the error, but do you have any suggestions? The error im getting doesn't make sense. Is this a custom programming error or is this coming from SP?

Any thoughts?

Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException -- Is from SharePoint; Might be data related (generally is).

I am unaware of any changes that R2 would have done to make this not work, but without access to your DTSX, all I can suggest is you trim down your 'test' set, and compare it against a new project in VS (as you indicated) to narrow it down.  If you are able to work through and find the root cause, i would like more than anything to see if there is something I can do (code, deployment update, or even if all I can do is add to the error message that comes back) to help others in similar situations.

The issue was my user account didn't have permissions to the SP list.  It was a development account. Added it and all worked fine.

Error was very deceiving.  Have a good one!

Yay, I'm very happy you figured it out. I wish the Sharepoint error wasn't so vague:P

Oct 21, 2013 at 4:21 PM
I have found exactly the same error. The following steps helped me.
  1. Make sure you have permissions to the SP list.
  2. In the Show Advanced Editor for the Sharepoint List Adapter Source, go to Input and Output Properties and remove the unnecessary columns from there.
That resolved my issue, hope could help.

Thanks
