SharePoint Destination List Error : System.Invalid.CastException Unable to cast object to type System.Net.NetworkCredential

Mar 16, 2012 at 10:22 PM

I am trying to write From SQL Server to a Sharepoint List by using the codeplex SharePoint List Destination Tool and CozyRoc Sharepoint Connection Manager Tool, but when setting up the SharePoint list Destination I am getting the following error:

Error at Dat flow Task [SharePoint List Destination [443]]: System.Invalid.CastException:  Unable to cast object type 'CozRoc.SqlServer.SSIS.SharePointConnetion' to type 'System.Net.NetworkCredential". ...

The strange thing is that I have no problem doing the opposite, which is reading from a Sharepoint List and writting to SQL Server, I am using the codeplex SharePoint List Source tool and CozyRoc Sharepoint Connection Manager tool.

Does any body has had this issue in the past?

Please any help will be appreciated.

I'm having the same issues.  Did you figure out what permission is needed on the sharepoint site for this error to go away?

Hi bjrkiek,

Sorry no news regarding this case...

Sounds like a solid bug, make sure there is something in the issue tracker.  There is I think an option in the dataflow to bypass the sharepoint credential - try that, or set the sharepoint credential if not already done.

You have to make sure you use the SPCRED credential manager and not the HTTP Connection Manager. That is what solved this error for me.
