Using a variable for the Sharepoint Site URL

Aug 13, 2009 at 12:40 AM

I am using the Sharepoint adapters to read and write Sharepoint Lists and will need to deploy the solution to the testing and then production sites soon. Is there a way to use a variable for the Sharepoint Site URL in the adaptors? It currently gives me an error of

Error at Data Flow Task [SharePoint List ASource [940]]: System.UriFormatException: Invalid URI scheme is not valid.

when using the variable

@[User::SharepointURL]

as the Site URL with the variable set to a valid Sharepoint Site URL.

thanks

Sure, I do this all the time. Put a default URL, you'll need something for it to work and to create it.  Then during your execution, just change it with a config file or config param.   The expressions on the Dataflow task will let you do this.

There is no expression on the dataflow task for the Sharepoint Site URL as far as I could see. Could you please give me some more detail or a screen shot to show me what you mean.

thanks

I am having the same difficulty. suef have you resolved it? I tried to create the variable at various levels, but no luck. I do have a default URL name in the variable.
