Hi, after installing updates from last patch day (8 June 2010), the sharepoint list compoments throw a validation error:

Validation error. Get list of new files: Get list of new files: System.TypeLoadException: Der Typ "System.Security.Authentication.ExtendedProtection.ExtendedProtectionPolicy" in der Assembly "System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" konnte nicht geladen werden. bei System.ServiceModel.HttpTransportSecurity..ctor() bei System.ServiceModel.BasicHttpSecurity..ctor() bei System.ServiceModel.BasicHttpBinding..ctor(BasicHttpSecurityMode securityMode) bei System.ServiceModel.BasicHttpBinding..ctor() bei Microsoft.Samples.SqlServer.SSIS.SharePointUtility.Adapter.ListsAdapter.ResetConnection() bei Microsoft.Samples.SqlServer.SSIS.SharePointUtility.Adapter.ListsAdapter..ctor(Uri sharepointUri) bei Microsoft.Samples.SqlServer.SSIS.SharePointUtility.ListServiceUtility.GetFields(Uri sharepointUri, String listName, String viewName) bei Microsoft.Samples.SqlServer.SSIS.SharePointListAdapters.SharePointListSource.GetAccessibleSharePointColumns(String sharepointUrl, String listName, String viewName) bei Microsoft.Samples.SqlServer.SSIS.SharePointListAdapters.SharePointListSource.ValidateSharePointColumns() bei Microsoft.Samples.SqlServer.SSIS.SharePointListAdapters.SharePointListSource.Validate() bei Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Pipeline.ManagedComponentHost.HostValidate(IDTSManagedComponentWrapper100 wrapper)

I have this issue on 2 different servers and no other software was installed.

Thanks in advance

Does your server have .net 3.5 installed or .net 4.0? I've never seen or heard of this issue before.

The Server has .net 3.5 SP1 installed.

After deinstalling and reinstalling the updates step by step I could identify the causing update... it is KB982168 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982168/en-us/)

This rollup update is intent to help strengthen authentication credentials in specific scenarios.

The problematic update appears with KB976769v2 in installed program list.

After I uninstalled this update all was fine on the other server, too.

Wow, fantastic investigation! I'm not sure what I need to do to make it work with this security update.
