Dear All

in our production environment sharepoint is in server A, sql server 2008 used by sharepoint is in server B (SSIS service is enabled in that machine), BIDS is installed in machine C-the client machine. So where do we need to install this adapter - offcourse in C but should we isntall in machine B as well? But there is no BIDS there? If we just install in C can it read?

We tried installing only on C but it is throwing unhandled soap exceptions? And cannot connect?

The adapter needs to be installed where it will be used.  If you are running it from the SSIS service in server B, then you'd need to install it there.  There is no pre-req for BIDS with these adapters.  Just run the installer on B and it should install what it needs for the service to execute properly.
